About this Project:

Stow, Ohio | 33,000 SF | $4 million

THE CHALLENGE

Create a comprehensive family health center that integrates children's therapy, primary care, express care, laboratory services, and community programming—all within a former supermarket shell requiring complete transformation.

OUR APPROACH

  • Adaptive reuse strategy that maximized existing structure while creating specialized clinical environments
  • Designed 43 exam rooms with supporting clinical infrastructure across multiple service lines
  • Created specialized children's therapy spaces including indoor gymnasiums, sensory rooms, feeding rooms, and casting areas tailored to pediatric rehabilitation needs
  • Planned phased construction to enable early occupancy of primary care areas while therapy spaces were completed
  • Integrated community rooms and administrative functions to support Cleveland Clinic's regional presence

TECHNICAL SCOPE

  • Primary Care & Express Care Clinics with full clinical support
  • Children's Therapy: gymnasiums, sensory rooms, feeding rooms, speech therapy, casting, specialized equipment
  • Blood Laboratory with point-of-care testing capabilities
  • 43 exam rooms with nurse stations, clean/soiled rooms, medication storage
  • Community meeting spaces and administrative wing

RESULT

Successful transformation of big-box retail into a comprehensive healthcare campus serving multiple community needs. The facility became Cleveland Clinic's regional hub for pediatric therapy services in Summit County.
